
Timothy Ray Bradley Jr. is an American Light Welterweight boxer. He currently holds the WBO World Welter weight Champion Title and has been rated as number 2 in the Light Welterweight division next to Amir Khan. Bradley was born on August 29th of 1983 at Cathedral City, California USA. He was nicknamed on the ring as “Desert Storm” and currently has 29 fights. Twenty-eight of which are wins of 12 knockouts, 0 losses, 0 draws, and 1 no contests.
Timothy Bradley debuted on his first professional boxing career by knocking out his opponent Francisco Martinez by the second round during their fight last August 20th of 2004. He garnered the WBC Junior Welterweight title after he defeated the British slugger Junior Witter on their fight which was held in England.
In 2009, Bradley had a bout with Kendall Holt which was to unify their WBC and WBO Championship titles. Despite receiving hard punches from the WBO Champion, Bradley won the bout through a unanimous decision and thus became the WBO champion. A few days after he fought and won Kendal Holt, Bradley was stripped by his WBC light welterweight title for his failure to respond to his mandatory fight with Devon Alexander. During the same year, Bradley fought another mandatory challenger Lamont Peterson on December 5th. Bradley knocked down Peterson on the third round hence winning the fight through a unanimous decision.
For his HBO debut, Timothy Bradley faced Luis Abregu on a non-title fight on the welterweight division. Despite the clear difference with their size, Bradley won the bout from Abregu. He also openly declared a challenge to Manny Pacquiao who was considered as the pound-for-pound king. Bradley forwardly stated to the Filipino Boxing champ to “Come break down this wall“.
In 2011, Timothy Bradley Jr. fought Devon Alexander through a unification bout of their WBO and WBC welterweight titles. Bradley Jr. won his fight with Alexander through a 10-round TKO decision on January 29th. After his fight with Alexander, Bradley was given the option to choose whoever he wanted to fight with and receive a $1.3 million pay. Although the public openly want Bradley to fight the WBA light welterweight Amir Khan, he opted not to go on with the bout. Due to this, Bradley dropped at number 2 while Amir Khan took rank number 1 at the Light Welterweight Rankings of The Ring Magazine and as well as ESPN.
Timothy Bradley Jr. was again stripped by his WBC title for refusing to fight the now WBA Junior Welterweight champion Amir Khan. It was announced that Bradley joined the Top Rank and will fight under the card of Pacquiao – Marquez III against Joel Casamayor.
